Ruby's career is over a decade now, having started making films while still in primary school. Her young age brings a fresh perspective and individual style to her storytelling. The early start saw her claiming awards as part of The Outlook for Someday three years in a row, then heading to Berlin for a film internship in 2017 at just 18 years old. While there, her 2018 short doco 'FemmeFitness' premiered at the Berlin Feminist Film Week, and she travelled to Cannes Film Festival as a director's assistant. Since coming home she has worked as a Production Secretary on Netflix series Sweet Tooth, Casting Assistant on Amazon series The Wilds, had her self funded short ‘Triple Scoop’ featured in the NZIFF 2020 programme, and filmed a music video Bones & Blood for Melbourne artist Vanessa Worm which had an international release on Optimo’s youtube channel. As well as filming a short doco 'Call Edith' on photographer Edith Amituanai which is being entered into international film festivals in 2021.
